Queen Snow White is the well-known fairytale character first appearing in the stories of the Brothers Grimm, who escapes her evil stepmother by going into hiding with the Seven Dwarfs and eats the poisoned apple that puts her into a deep sleep until a prince comes and wakes her with a kiss. The Wishing Spell's prologue takes place after the traditional fairy tale ends and Snow White has married her prince and rules as queen.

Appearance[]

"Her skin was as pale as snow, her hair was as dark as coal, and her eyes were as green as a forest. Her beauty was known throughout the land, and her story was known even beyond that."[1]

Snow White has skin as white as snow, long loose wavy hair as black as coal, lips as red as blood, and eyes as green as a forest. She wears a long dress with a light blue top with long and loose sleeves and a golden crown with a blue bow on her head. Her beauty was so recognized that she was considered the most fairest of them all

Personality[]

Although her people demanded the death of the Evil Queen, Snow White decided to have her imprisoned instead. When she asks the queen for her motives, she reveals that she was desperate for her stepmother's attention and love as a child, and knew about her stepmother's attempts on her life but kept hoping the Evil Queen would change. [2]

"I knew it was you. I knew you were dangerous, but I kept letting you in. I kept hoping you would change. I let you harm me."

She is a kind and compassionate woman. When she hears about the Evil Queen's life story, she feels sorry for her and releases her from the dungeons to try and help her reverse the spell on the Magic Mirror. She soon realises this was a mistake. This shows that Snow White has faith in the good side of human nature and will give everyone the chance to change into a better person, even her wicked stepmother.

Despite her stepmother's terrible crimes, Snow White cared for her and wanted to earn her love. Later in the book, she is shown to have kept the Evil Queen's possessions (magic books, furniture, glass vials and containers) in a storage room in the castle, which she goes to visit to think about her stepmother and what she has done[3]. When she hears of her stepmother's death, she is visibly shaken and upset[4]. This displays Snow White's desire for a family as she never knew her mother, a bond which she hoped to share with Evly and it is assumed that her father died before she reclaimed the throne.

Relationships[]

Queen Snow White is married to one of the Princes Charming, Chandler. She is still friends with the Seven Dwarfs and they occasionally visit her in the castle.

Story[]

Childhood[]

Snow White was born to King White and his wife, who while pregnant was poisoned by Evly, however, although the queen died, the girl managed to be born safe and sound, later her father married Evly and became Snow White's stepmother. The king died a short time after the wedding.

Although she was loved by the entire northern kingdom, Snow White longed for family love, but Evly began to undergo beauty treatments and neglected both the kingdom and her stepdaughter. the little Snow White tried everything to get her attention, doing pranks, hiding, hoping that she would notice her absence but nothing worked, Snow White began to spy on her secretly and discovered the existence of her stepmother's magic mirror.

Conspiracy and Attempted Murder[]

One day when her stepmother was not there she out of curiosity, she saw her magic mirror. What she did not know is that Mira the lover of Evly who was trapped in the mirror was looking at her and seeing how much Snow White looked like Evly he began to confuse her with her.

When Evly found out, filled with sadness and jealousy, she plotted a plan to kill Snow White, hoping that after she died, Mira would turn her attention back to her, she told The Huntsman to take Snow White to the forest and kill her there. The Huntsman was determined to kill the princess but in the last act he couldn't do it so he told Snow White to flee the northern kingdom. Scared Snow White quickly fled to the Dwarf Forests.

Snow White wandered through the dwarf forests for days until she found an abandoned cabin, after entering and organizing it a bit, she fell asleep in one of the rooms, what she did not know was that that cabin belonged to 7 dwarfs. The dwarves, after returning from their work in the mines, found Snow White in one of her rooms, she explained her situation to them and they let her stay on the condition that she help with the housework and not open the door to anyone other than them.

Snow White accepted the condition, every morning the dwarves went to work in the mountains while she was left alone doing housework but happy to be safe.

Triple Attempted Murder[]

When Evly asked her mirror who was now the most fairest of them all, it replied again that Snow White, revealing that the hunter had betrayed her, so she decided to take action on the matter and kill her herself. Through magic potions, she disguised herself as 3 characters, first she disguised herself as a rope seller, she tied one around Snow White's neck so tightly that she fell fainting, but the dwarfs woke her up by removing the rope from her neck. Then she disguised herself as a seller of combs, she created a comb with poison in its bristles, when Snow White put it on she fell unconscious but the comb did not hit her skull so when the dwarfs took it off she woke up again. Evly fed up disguised herself as an ugly old hag who sold apples poisoning one of them with a powerful poison.

What no one ever knew is that Snow White always knew that her stepmother was the one behind those costumes, but she kept accepting her dangerous gifts because she expected her to change, letting her do her harm. Snow White finally bit into the apple and fell dead instantly, this time the dwarves couldn't wake her up, but instead of burying her they created a beautiful glass coffin in which they put her.

Liberation and Recover the throne[]

Some time later, Prince Chandler Charming was riding through the dwarf forests looking for any trace of his lost brother Charlie, when he heard crying nearby and saw seven dwarfs crying near a glass coffin. He gently asked the dwarves why they were crying and the dwafts told him the story about the princess who was in that coffin. Chandler, moved by the story and captivated by the beauty of the princess, asked the dwarves to let him take the coffin to give the princess a decent funeral, they agreed. But accidentally when they were lifting the coffin it tipped over, throwing the princess's body causing her to spit out the piece of poisoned apple stuck in her throat, reviving her.

The dwarfs cried with joy and Snow White asked Chandler how she could thank him for helping her, Chandler told her that he wanted her hand in marriage to which she happily accepted. Upon returning to the northern kingdom and after discovering the queen's attempted murder of the princess, the people began a coup d'état overthrowing Evly. after Evly was overthrown, Snow White finally took her place as Queen of the Northern Kingdom.

The people cried out for the death of Evly, whom they began to call the Evil Queen, but Snow White instead of killing her, locked her in one of the deepest cells in the castle, only leaving her heart of stone as the only object that she will keep in her cell.

1. The Wishing Spell[]

One night Snow White went to visit her stepmother, she secretly went to the dungeons of the castle and ordered the guards not to tell anyone what she was doing, especially Chandler. Snow White asked her stepmother the real reason why she did what she did, because she never wanted her to hate her, she only wanted her to love her like a daughter.

Evly became defensive, telling him that she was never lacking in love, that she would never know what it's like to have one love and then lose it. Snow White asked her if she was referring to her father, Evly denied and said that she had a life before entering hers and full of curiosity Snow White asked her what she was referring to. Evly proceeded to tell her story, but not before warning Snow White that unlike his, hers does not have a happy ending.

Snow White was heartbroken when she heard her stepmother's story, so trying to please her even once, she secretly freed her from the dungeons and sent her to the ruins of an ancient castle so she could continue trying to free her beloved.

Days after the escape of the Evil Queen, the general of the Northern Kingdom kept asking Snow White what was the last thing they talked about. Snow White refused to give her any clear information as she headed to her stepmother's old room, later asking the captain to leave her alone in the room.

Alex and Conner meet her in the old room of the Evil Queen, Snow White was reviewing a spell book which she dropped horrified after seeing the page where the preparation of the apple that almost ended her life was.Very sad for the mistake she made, she began to cry, then Alex and Conner revealed themselves to her, they asked her to let them take some jewelry from her crystal coffin, but she told them that after Chandler freed her from the spell, she gave the coffin back to the dwarfs.

Before they left the northern kingdom, Snow White warned them about her stepmother and asked them to be careful around her.

In the end, Snow White revealed to the Bailey Twins that she had freed her stepmother, after hearing the sad story of her life, she was glad that at least she could see the man she loved so much, even if it was for the last time.

Alex asked the queen if she would try to clear her stepmother's name, but she told him that it is easier said than done and that for now they would just have to live giving the compassion that she never had. implying that Snow White and the twins understood what the message that the story of the Evil Queen gave them was.
