"It was a tall, dark fortress that sat in the center of a long peninsula that curved around Mermaid bay in the southern part of the Eastern Kingdom. It was perched at the top of a high and rocky cliff with sharp spikes pointing inward and outward at every window so there was no possible way to escape or gain unauthorized entry. Enchanted wooden soldiers patrolled the narrow stone halls."
— Description of the prison[1]

Pinocchio Prison is a penitentiary situated in the Eastern Kingdom and founded by the Happily Ever After Assembly. Home to the most dangerous criminals in the kingdoms, Pinocchio Prison is well-guarded by enchanted marionettes. The prison was not affected by the Sleeping Curse nor was it affected by the Enchantress' thornbush spell, however, it has fell several times to outside forces and prisoners alike.

History[]

Pinocchio Prison was originally a regular prison where most of the inmates were captured by Pinocchio who vowed to capture criminals who preyed on the young. However, after Pinocchio's father passed away, he turned back from a person to a puppet. Pinocchio was so devastated by the death of his father that he neglected his duties resulting in a riot caused by the prisoners he captured. The prisoners started a fire which burned the prison, which was later rebuilt as Pinocchio Prison believing that the puppet perished in the fire. Unbeknownst to everyone, Pinocchio barely survived and moved to the Dwarf Forests in seclusion feeling guilty that the prisoners escaped on his watch.

General Marquis and his army broke into the prison and defeated the wooden soldiers, burning them (and their parts) in a bonfire. They offered the prisoners (including the Masked Man) the chance to join the Grande Armée.[2] When the General was defeated, the prisoners and what was left of the Armée was rounded up by Jack and Goldilocks and imprisoned. The Masked Man later freed all the prisoners again.

When Alex and Conner look inside his cell, they see illustrations of winged creatures, pirate ships, and animals with big ears and feet. He has carved lumps of coal into hooks, hearts, and swords.[3]

Lady Gretel's Cell: Gretel is imprisoned for killing her brother Hansel. Though she explains it was an accident, she preferred going to jail for it.[4]
