Background Edit

King Chase Charming is the well-known fairy tale character also named "Prince Charming" from the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty, who fights his way through the thornbushes around the castle to wake Sleeping Beauty with a kiss.

At the start of The Wishing Spell, King Chase Charming and Queen Sleeping Beauty are married. They rule the Eastern Kingdom (formerly Sleeping Kingdom).

Appearance and Personality Edit

"Chase looked exactly like his brother, except he was a bit taller and wore a goatee."[1]

King Chase is shown as a caring and chivalrous husband, but he does not play a very large part in the books. He is mostly just mentioned as being "by Queen Sleeping Beauty's side".

Relationships Edit

King Chase Charming is the second-born son of King Chester Charming. His brothers are all "Princes Charmings" from other well-known fairytales (...and then there's Froggy).

In A Grimm Warning, Sleeping Beauty revels that the Sleeping Curse left her and many other women in the Eastern Kingdom barren. Shortly after, she and the other royals come upon the ruins of a village that has been ransacked by the Grande Armée, leaving no survivors but a small baby girl. She and Chase immediately decide to adopt her. They call her Ash.

Story Edit

1. The Wishing Spell Edit

King Chase calls for his guards to have Alex and Conner arrested after they break into their castle and interrupt their meeting, but Queen Sleeping Beauty overrules him and hears the twins out.[2]

2. The Enchantress Returns Edit

King Chase is present at the Assembly and is captured by Ezmia along with the other monarchs.

3. A Grimm Warning Edit

Chase joins the other royals on the hidden path and is captured by the Grande Armée when they are betrayed. He fights alongside his brothers in the battle against the army.

4. Beyond the Kingdoms Edit

He attends Red and Froggy's (almost) wedding.[3] It is unclear what happened to the Eastern Kingdom and the royal family when the Masked Man's army of literary villains attacked.
