Background
Queen Rapunzel is the well-known fairytale character first appearing in the stories of the Brothers Grimm, who was locked in a tower by a witch and was rescued by a prince who climbed up the tower using her long hair as a rope.
The Wishing Spell takes place after the traditional fairy tale ends and Rapunzel has married her prince and rules as queen of the Corner Kingdom.
Appearance and Personality
Rapunzel has remarkably long hair.
"She was beautiful, with hair that matched the lock Alex and Conner had collected for the Wishing Spell. She wore it up in the biggest bun the twins had ever seen, and it still ran down her back and trailed behind her."[1]
Rapunzel spent most of her life alone locked in the tower. Afters he became queen, she installed a staircase in the tower so she could visit it whenever she wanted.[2]
Relationships
Rapunzel is married to Sir William. She refers to herself as "Aunt Rapunzel"[3] in regards to Princess Hope, but it is unclear if she and Cinderella (or Chase) are actually related[4].
Story
Queen Rapunzel is present at all the gatherings of the monarchs in the books, but unlike the other queens, did not get any seperate story/plotlines (so far).
In The Enchantress Returns, she is captured by Ezmia along with the other royals and forced to surrender her kingdom. They are saved by Alex. In A Grimm Warning, Rapunzel goes into hiding on the secret path along with the other royals. When they see the destruction the Grande Armée has wreaced upon a town, Red Riding Hood asks Goldilocks for fighting lessons. Rapunzel and the other queens join her. The royals are ambushed and captured. When they are rescued, they fight alongside Alex and Conner to defeat the army.
