"No matter how hard the struggles are that you leave behind, new struggles always take their place."[1]
— Cinderella

Cinderella is the queen consort of the Charming Kingdom. She makes her debut in The Wishing Spell.

Background[]

Queen Cinderella is the main character from the well-known fairy tale Cinderella, who lived with her wicked stepmother and stepsisters until her fairy godmother helped her attend a royal ball where she met her future husband. The condition of the fairy godmother's spell forced Cinderella to flee from the ball at midnight, leaving behind a glass slipper. The prince found her again by making all young women in the kingdom try on the glass slipper and they were married.

At the start of The Wishing Spell, Queen Cinderella and King Chance Charming are married, and Cinderella is pregnant. It is revealed in The Enchantress Returns that her actual name is "Ella" and "Cinderella" is a nickname her father gave her because she liked playing in the fireplace.[2]

Appearance[]

"Cinderella was more beautiful than they had ever expected. Her hair was auburn and styled up behind a crystal tiara. She wore white gloves and a long, turquoise gown flowed down around her, accentuating her pregnant belly. Despite all the gold and the glorious chandelier, her eyes and smile were the brightest things in the room."[3]

Cinderella is a very beautiful woman with pale, smooth skin, bright green eyes, light reddish-brown hair tied up in a bun, and thin lips, her belly swollen from her pregnancy which he stopped having after his daughter was born. She wears a long billowing deep turquoise dress, matching long white gloves, and her signature blue glass slippers.

Personality[]

Cinderella tells the twins how she had a hard time when she first became a queen. Her people were not charmed by the idea of having a serving girl become their queen, and she found public life overwhelming and difficult.[4]

She and her husband have a ball in the castle once a month to commemorate their wedding.[5] A special dance at this ball consists of the gentlemen collecting a shoe from their dance partner before sliding it back on their feet.[6]

She cares for her daughter very much, as she begs her husband to surrender their kingdom when Hope's life is in danger.

She loves her subjects very much, as she got rid of all the servant entrances so that when anyone entered her palace, everyone would enter as equals.

As Queen, she had the grounds around her stepmother's house guarded and protected from vandalism.[7]

Relationships[]

Cinderella is married to King Chance Charming. At the end of the first book, their daughter, Princess Hope, is born.

Story[]

Childhood[]

Cinderella, whose real name is Ella, was born in a town in the Charming Kingdom. She came from a noble but modest family. Her mother died when she was little and her father remarried Lady Iris, who was a noble widow who had two daughters from her previous marriage, Petunia and Rosemary.

But at some later time Cinderella's father fell into a terrible disease and later also ended up passing away. Lady Iris, full of pain and sadness for having lost another husband, began to take it out on Cinderella who was the spitting image of her husband. Iris fired all the servants they had and put Cinderella to work as the only servant while she and her daughters enjoyed all the privileges of the family fortune.

Invitation to the Royal Ball[]

After his brothers found their respective wives, Chance Charming, feeling that he was the only one without someone to love, decided to organize a ball in the castle of the Charming Kingdom to choose who would be his wife, inviting nobles and commoners alike. When the invitation arrived at Cinderella's house, her stepsisters prepared to go to the ball. Cinderella insisted that they let her go since everyone, including commoners, was invited, but Lady Iris forbade her from going to the ball and told her that someone like her did not deserve to go.

With a broken heart, Cinderella ran away to the patio to cry and while she was crying she began to beg for someone to help her, at that moment the Fairy Godmother appeared, she asked the girl why she was so sad and she explained her situation, then the fairy promised to help her.

To and Escape from the Royal Ball[]

The fairy godmother took out her magic wand and after reciting a spell and moving it elegantly, Cinderella was magically dressed in a beautiful sparkling violet dress with jewels and ornaments along with some beautiful slippers made of crystal. Charmed some mice into horses and turned a pumpkin from the garden into a beautiful carriage. The fairy godmother warned her that when it was midnight the spell would lose its effect and all the magic would be undone, but Cinderella didn't care because she was happy to be able to go to the royal ball.

When she arrived at the palace, everyone, including the guards, gasped when they looked at her because they had never seen a woman as beautiful as her before, her stepmother and stepsisters could not even recognize her since they were used to seeing her dirty and full of rags. When Chance saw her, he immediately fell in love with her, it was love at first sight and later he invited her to dance, the two spent the night together dancing for hours and the more he got to know her, the more he fell in love.

Time flew by and when the first chime of midnight struck, a frightened Cinderella quickly fled the palace. Chance tried to follow her but it was useless , Cinderella lost a shoe when she was going down the stairs and could not get it back and hurried out of the castle. Chance found the shoe she left behind and declared the next day that any woman would try it on and whoever would fit would be his wife.

Trying on the shoe and Life in the palace[]

All the women of the Enchanting Kingdom, both nobles and commoners, tried on the shoe but none of them fit, when they arrived at Lady Iris's home, Petunia and Rosemary tried on the shoe but none of them fit. Only Cinderella was left, who when she put it on, it fit perfectly.

She and Chance finally got married, although at first she was not very well received due to her humble origins. Cinderella quickly earned the respect of the nobles and even stopped bothering them that she was not noble.

After learning about the treatment that Cinderella received from her stepmother and stepsisters, the entire Enchanting Kingdom began to persecute and harass them. Although Cinderella could not forget how they treated her, she did not approve, so she isolated the house where they lived so that no one would attack them .At some point during her marriage Cinderella announced that she was pregnant.
